How to Help

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising ideas include:

  • hosting a morning tea
  • organising an art exhibition
  • arranging a sausage sizzle
  • taking part in a fun run, marathon or cycle challenge
  • running a team building challenge at work
  • hosting a trivia and/or karaoke night

The easiest way is to set up a fundraising page on sites like GoFundraise or Everyday Hero. Once your fundraising page is set up, email the link to your contacts and ask them to make a donation. You can also share the link on your social networks.

GIVE THROUGH YOUR PAY

Workplace giving is the simplest and most effective way to give and because you receive an immediate tax reduction through your payroll payment, you save time searching for receipts at tax time. It reduces administration costs allowing more of your contribution to reach the people who need it most.

Some employers even match employee donations, doubling your impact and allowing you and your colleagues to provide greater support to our clients. For more information on Workplace Giving visit www.ato.gov.au.

For employers: If your employees wish to give to IDS via workplace giving, we can offer guidance on how best to set up a Workplace Giving Program and how to effectively engage staff.

CORPORATE SUPPORT

Corporate partners play a vital role in helping IDS raise awareness, supporting the work we do on behalf of our clients through:

  • company and employee fundraising
  • matched giving
  • in-kind support
  • sponsorship
  • cause-related marketing
  • employee volunteer days
  • client buddying

LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL

A bequest is a unique gift of money or assets that you leave through your Will. By leaving a bequest to IDS, you are making a lasting difference to those we support in the community.

Bequests can take a number of forms, including:

  • a percentage of the value of your estate
  • a specified amount of money or property
  • the residue of the estate after your family and other beneficiaries have been provided for

GIVE IN MEMORY OF YOUR LOVED ONE

A special way to honour a loved one when they pass away is by offering friends and family the opportunity to make donations to IDS to celebrate their life, instead of sending flowers.

CELEBRATION DONATION

Donating in lieu of a gift is a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion. You may request donations to be made in lieu of gifts when celebrating your birthday, anniversary or wedding.
