Fartun Farah has time and time again proven her capabilities as a DSW and has grown to become such an important part of IDS. We love knowing Fartun and thought you’d love to know more about her too.
Why did you become a DSW?
I really enjoy meeting people, talking to them and listening to their experiences. Getting to know them as a human being, not just a client that you’re there to help.
What does a typical day at IDS look like?
Going out into the community and helping clients and being there for them. Showing them kindness and respect. That’s what I do, at least!
Tell us about the best day you’ve had at IDS?
The best part of this job is hearing thank you. I love it when clients get in touch just to share their gratitude.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learnt?
Nothing bad ever lasts! At one moment, a client could be having a go at you, while the next, they could be smiling and talking to you like nothing ever happened. It’s a very exciting role, haha!
Tell us a bit more about yourself.
I have been working as a DSW for the last 5 years. I am a mother of 5 beautiful children and love watching comedy and travel shows.
What’s your message for other individuals looking to become DSWs?
The most important thing is to always show care, respect others and be patient. This is a very rewarding role. It’s incredible knowing that you are making someone’s life a little bit easier.
